Is there a way to share a post to another community without having to copy/paste or retype the post?

    Thanks!

    Karim

    Hello Dr. Sirgi,

Yes, 'cross-posting' is available in CAPCommunity (HigherLogic) and it works similar to how cross-posts are created in popular social media platforms.

To do so, please look for the 'Cross Post To (optional)' field when you are creating a new discussion post. Then choose the appropriate community(ies) you'd like to post to. Screenshot below.

Quick note - you can only post to communities that you are a member of and you have the rights to post in that community. If you'd like to post to a committee or council's community that you are not a member of, please reach out to the staff lead for that community or Leah Noparstak or me. We'll be happy to request the committee staff leads to post your message.

Thank you Viral. In the Cross Post feature, it allows me to do it to one community; is there a way to cross post to multiple communities? When I select another community from the drop down menu, it cancels the first community I selected.
    Thanks again,
    Karim

    Hi Dr. Sirgi,

I just tested it and you're correct - it allows you to select only one community in the drop down. I too would have expected it to allow us to post to multiple communities.

I don't know if this is expected behavior or a glitch. I've opened a ticket with HigherLogic to get confirmation. I will keep you posted as I learn more. Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Good morning Dr. Sirgi,

I heard back from HigherLogic support. They confirmed that currently cross posting is limited to only one another community and so the feature does not work as you and I expected. I learned something new today as well!

I will submit our observation as an enhancement request to their Product Team for consideration in their product roadmap.
