Kevin Schap is CAP staff and has been employed there since 2006. He started working for CAP as a summer intern in the mailroom before being pulled into the Information Services department where he would spend the next 10 years. In 2017, Kevin complete his Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Chicago, a newly formed program developed by one of the university's pathologists. Shortly after graduating, he changed roles and became the manager of clinical informatics initiatives, reporting to Mary Kennedy. As pathology and his career at the CAP has continued to evolve, he now finds himself in his current role as the Senior Manager of Artificial Intelligence and Data Standards Initiatives.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys reading, hiking, going to the gym, leather working, and dabbling in the stock market. If he's not busy with one of the aforementioned activities, he is likely spending time with his wife Kristina, a current GU Pathology fellow at U of C, taking care of their 5 dogs.
